Well. today is officially the first day of class. And I'm upset with myself for not creating this blog sooner. I've got plenty of archived notes and screenshots though, so I may be able to reflect on them and revisit the past and reflect accordingly.
I'm enjoying the ride though. I created a Facebook account today specifically for school earlier, and I've been mulling over the options outlined in the syllabus for project delivery.
Ning? I'm not a huge fan of Ning. I believe it's an awesome concept, and the creators are filthy rich because of it, but in terms of its flexibility, I don't see it as a viable option.
For instance, if one is a seasoned programmer or has access to programmers, and would like to take the Ning framework and expand upon it...they (Ning) won't offer support. Just the script...and you're on your own and also not privy to future releases/upgrades of the framework. If, however, you decide to stick with their limiting framework...you can go ahead, as most people do. (Ugh!)
If I am thrown into a team of Ning fans, I am worried that I will have to reluctantly comply ad end up being the tech person to suffer through the annoyance of working around a Ning site. But, I'll take one for the team ;-)
